A boutique consulting practice grounded in operational discipline and values commitment.
Borea Systems is a Colorado-based consulting practice founded to help small and mid-size businesses solve specific operational problems through outside expertise. The practice operates with two primary focuses: sales operations support for businesses whose growth is constrained by underperforming sales operations, and contract recruiting for organizations that need to find specific people without the internal capacity to source them.
Beyond the two primary services, Borea Systems offers additional capabilities including customer service support, project coordination, operations problem-solving, civic engagement field operations, legal intake support, AI compliance preparation, and DAO architecture advisory. These secondary services are available based on engagement fit rather than marketed prominently.
The practice is deliberately boutique. Engagements are limited in number at any given time to ensure quality of service and direct founder attention to client work. Borea Systems does not seek to maximize engagement volume; it seeks to deliver work that produces measurable outcomes for the businesses it serves.
Borea Systems is founded by Michael C. Seidel, based in Denver, Colorado. The practice draws on his direct experience across field sales, canvass operations management, business development, contract recruiting, customer service coordination, project coordination, and legal intake. The work that Borea Systems does is work he has personally done within the last several years rather than theoretical knowledge from a textbook.
The founder's background spans commercial sales operations (most recently in home services), contract staffing through a consulting firm placing field workers, legal intake at a law firm, and earlier campaign field operations work on both sides of the political spectrum. The breadth of operational experience is what enables the practice to bring direct expertise to multiple service categories rather than offering generic consulting across them.
Three commitments distinguish how Borea Systems works:
No engagement begins without establishing what success looks like in measurable terms. "We'll improve your sales" without a defined starting metric is not an engagement; it's a wish. The practice operates on hypothesis-testing logic: interventions are predictions, outcomes test the predictions, and methodology adjusts based on results.
Every engagement begins with a free 30-minute conversation. We sometimes decline engagements that aren't a good fit, either because the practice can't deliver what the client actually needs, or because the work doesn't align with our values commitment. Honest fit assessment protects both client and practice from engagements that won't succeed.
Every engagement is designed to build client capability that persists after the engagement ends. We don't create permanent client dependency through obscurity. Handoff phases produce documented capabilities the client owns. Where ongoing support is appropriate, it's structured as a defined retainer with explicit terms.
Borea Systems works with organizations whose conduct, not just rhetoric, demonstrates respect for the people they serve, the integrity of their work, and the well-being of the communities they operate in.
For civic engagement specifically, we work with candidates, ballot measures, and civic organizations whose campaigns demonstrate respect for democratic institutions, the dignity of voters and opponents, the integrity of the democratic process, and the well-being of the communities they serve. We work across the partisan spectrum where these criteria are met. We decline engagements that would require us to act against them, regardless of fee.
This commitment governs engagement selection, tactical execution, and client communication. Specifically, Borea Systems declines:
The values commitment is the discipline that distinguishes Borea Systems from vendors who will take any work that pays.
Borea derives from Boreas, the personification of the north wind in Greek mythology. The name evokes clarity, direction, and the kind of clean force that moves things forward. It reflects the practice's intention: clear, direct, principled work that helps organizations move toward where they're trying to go.
